Tony Banks
Tony C. Banks Bio (July 2005) Tony C. Banks, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at FirstEnergy Solutions Corporation in Akron, Ohio, began his career in 1974 as an Accounting Clerk with Consolidated Natural Gas Company, progressing through various positions to his last position in 1995 as Treasurer and Director, Strategic Marketing Services. In 1995, Tony accepted the Chief Financial Officer position with Atlas America, Inc., a Pittsburgh based oil & gas company, and in 1998 became President of the company. In late 2000, Tony co-founded and became Chairman of the Board of Optiron Corporation, a technology firm providing utility billing and customer care software and services. After leaving Optiron in 2003, Tony provided energy and information technology consulting services, primarily to a New Zealand company looking to enter the U.S. markets. Tony joined FirstEnergy in August 2004 as Director Marketing and was promoted to Vice President Sales & Marketing in July 2005. Tony serves on the board of directors of Atlas Pipeline Partners, a company he helped take public in 2000 and is also on the board of the West Penn Minority Junior Golf Association. Tony has a BS in Accounting/Computers from Point Park College and successfully passed the Pennsylvania CPA exam.
